Terms & Conditions.

These terms explain how the 2ndChance website and developing community bleed kit project may be used, how donations support the mission, and the limits of the service.

This website does not place emergency calls and its 999 dial function is disabled. In an emergency, use your telephone or device to contact 999 directly, follow the call handler's advice and never move towards danger.

1. About 2ndChance

2ndChance is a community project developing a network to improve awareness of and access to emergency bleed kits. In these terms, “2ndChance”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the project and the people operating it.

The website describes the project's intended mission and a proposed London pilot. It is not an emergency service, ambulance service, healthcare provider or substitute for professional medical assistance.

2. Accepting these terms

By using this website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please stop using the website. Separate terms from a payment provider, app store, partner or kit supplier may also apply where their services are used.

3. Emergencies and safety

Call 999 directly in an emergency. Never delay an emergency call while using this website, looking for a kit or contacting 2ndChance.

The website's 999 dial function is disabled. Follow the instructions of the 999 call handler and emergency professionals. Do not enter an unsafe area, move towards danger or attempt treatment beyond your training and the professional guidance you receive.

4. Project and app development

The website, app and bleed kit network are still being developed. At the effective date of these terms, no bleed kits are shown as supplied or connected to the London pilot. Maps, routes, app screens, counters, locations and response flows may illustrate planned features rather than active services.

We do not guarantee that any kit, holder, responder, route, alert, map location or app feature will be available, accurate or suitable during an emergency. Live availability must be independently verified before any future public launch.

5. Donations and funding transparency

All donations received by 2ndChance are intended to supply emergency bleed kits and maintain the operations required to develop, deliver and sustain the community project.

For transparency, donations and other project funding may be allocated to:

  • purchasing, supplying, replacing, replenishing and maintaining bleed kits;
  • medical, safety, storage, installation, communications and other supporting equipment;
  • staffing, contractors, specialist advice, volunteer support and reasonable personnel costs;
  • travel, transport and delivery connected with kits, partnerships, training and community work;
  • website, app, mapping, hosting, messaging, telephone and technology costs;
  • training, safeguarding, insurance, clinical governance, compliance and professional services;
  • fundraising, payment processing, administration and other reasonable operational costs that support the 2ndChance mission.

A donation to a general appeal is not restricted to the purchase of one particular kit. We may allocate it between the categories above according to the project's reasonable priorities. A donation will be treated as restricted where an appeal clearly states a restriction or where 2ndChance has expressly accepted a restriction in writing.

We aim to share clear project updates as the network develops. Unless a donation page expressly states otherwise, visitors should not assume that 2ndChance is a registered charity or that a donation qualifies for Gift Aid or other tax relief.

6. Donation refunds

Donations are normally final. If a payment was duplicated, made in error or affected by a technical problem, contact us promptly with the payment details. Any refund will be considered in line with applicable law and the rules of the payment provider. We do not guarantee that every refund request can be accepted.

7. Website content and intellectual property

We aim to keep website information accurate, but it may be incomplete, out of date or changed without notice. Medical and operational information is provided for general awareness only and is not personal medical advice.

Unless otherwise credited, the 2ndChance name, logo, website design, written content and project materials belong to 2ndChance or are used with permission. They may not be copied, sold, misrepresented or used to imply endorsement without prior written permission. Credited third-party material remains subject to its own licence.

8. Acceptable use

You must not misuse the website, attempt unauthorised access, introduce malicious code, interfere with its operation, submit false emergency or kit information, impersonate the project, or use 2ndChance content in a way that is unlawful, misleading or unsafe.

10. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, 2ndChance is not liable for loss arising from reliance on planned, illustrative, unavailable or inaccurate website information; interruption of the website; unavailability of a kit or responder; or the acts of third-party services.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the project, app, donation arrangements or law changes. The effective date at the top of this page will show when the latest version applies. Continued use after an update means the updated terms apply to that use.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer rights that apply where you live.
